First and foremost, a hearty Happy New Year to all of you! This year's fireworks display was truly spectacular, though poor Luna was quite petrified throughout, necessitating a comforting embrace to ensure her safety. It's that time when we all set goals for the new year, and I fervently hope you accomplish yours. One of the best piece of advice I read is not to wait for the perfect moment but to seize the opportunity as soon as it arises. In today's edition, we'll delve into a delightful discovery – a restaurant we chanced upon with Luna, which turned out to be a marvellous surprise.

Our Experience

Our Boxing Day plan was to visit a different cafe in Mosman, next to a walking trail. However, a sudden downpour thwarted our plans, leaving us drenched and unable to reach the cafe in time.

We stumbled upon August The Old Place around 1 pm, greeted by ample parking and the convenience of free parking near Woolies Metro.

Upon arrival, the staff welcomed us with warm smiles, and the presence of other furry friends immediately made us feel at ease. After requesting the restroom key to freshen up, we eagerly perused the menu.

The restaurant, resembling a grand Victorian house with lofty ceilings, offers a cosy ambience. Its outdoor area, protected by a roof, ensures comfort regardless of weather changes.

The menu presents an enticing fusion of Australian and Asian cuisine, though, regrettably, no online menu link is available to share.

My wife chose the Beer Battered Rock Flathead, an exceptional dish with fresh, crisply battered fish and perfectly seasoned thick-cut fries.

I selected the Blue Swimmer Crab Linguine. The salmon was grilled to perfection – moist inside with a delightfully crispy skin. The sauce, a harmonious blend of seafood and zesty tomato, was so delightful I wished for bread to savour every last drop.

We didn’t inquire about indoor seating, but the sheltered outdoor area was more than adequate for us and our furry companions.

Doggy Amenities

It's advisable to bring a water bottle for your doggy as we didn't spot a communal water bowl.
