Our Experience

Our last Sunday adventure led us to the uncharted streets of Annandale, a suburb new to our explorations. Finding parking was surprisingly straightforward in the residential area - completely free!

Directly opposite the cafe, a petite park offers a serene spot for a brief stroll with your furry friend.

The cafe bustled with an outdoor seating area filled with fellow dog lovers, instantly making us feel at home. We were fortunate to find seating just as it became available, with the service being prompt and efficient.

The cafe's interior is a blend of simplicity and modernity, showcasing an array of homemade pickles, jams, and sauces. For those with a penchant for sweets, their baked goods selection will not disappoint.

Luna’s photo, eyes shut and embracing the breeze, is a silent narrative of contentment. One wonders about the tranquil thoughts she may be entertaining.

Menu Highlights

There's no paper menu at the cafe - just a quick QR code scan to bring up the options for food and drinks right on your phone.

To our surprise, Cornersmith is a vegetarian oasis. We initially opted for the same sandwich, the Spring Toastie, but instead chose to share and sample a broader range of flavours - a delightful decision.

The Spring Toastie breaks the mold of typical vegetarian options, offering grilled capsicum and housemade sambal in lieu of mushrooms or eggplant. The accompanying side salad, a flavourful mix of grilled asparagus, fresh leaves, roasted nuts, and tantalising homemade sauce, was a standout.

While my wife had a preference for the Spring Toastie, I was captivated by the Cheese & Pickle Toastie. It’s Cornersmith’s crowning jewel for those who adore cheese, with a perfect balance that elevates it beyond the ordinary.

Doggy Amenities

Cornersmith extends its hospitality to four-legged visitors with a communal water bowl at the entrance - a considerate touch for our furry companions.
