Embarking on New Adventures: Celebrating the Lunar New Year with Luna and Exploring Dog-Friendly Luxuries
Hey there,
Wishing a joyous Luna(r) 🌑 New Year to all who are celebrating this festive time. We hope the Year of the Dragon 🐲 brings you prosperity and happiness. In this week's edition, we're taking a slightly different path; while our adventures with Luna at cafes and restaurants continue, we're excited to introduce a new segment we've never explored before. Before we delve into that, we're excited to announce our transition to a new newsletter platform, Substack, starting next Friday. This move aims to enhance our community visibility and foster our subscriber growth. Keep an eye out for communications from [email protected], marking our new digital home. Now, without further delay, let's embark on this week's journey!

Our Experience
Hotel Lobby
Our arrival at the hotel was met with a warm welcome from the bellboy, who was quick to assist with our luggage. The check-in process was seamless, with no waiting required, a pleasant surprise as we were allowed early check-in despite our early arrival.

Pet Policy Form
Although we had a lunch engagement that necessitated a quick departure, leaving our luggage with the concierge was effortless, allowing for a smooth transition upon our return. Prepayment and completion of the pet policy form expedited our check-in process. The hotel's pet-friendly policy, accommodating pets under 11.5kg with a reasonable one-time fee of $150, was a welcome aspect, especially compared to other establishments that charge nightly.
Luna Enjoying Her New Home
The room greeted us with thoughtful pet amenities, including a comfortable doggy bed, bowls, a water bottle, treats, and a high-quality takeaway bag equipped with a luxurious pee pad - a detail Luna, fortunately, did not require but would have found most impressive. Our belongings were already in place, and the room's modern aesthetics, complemented by a partial harbour view, added a touch of vacation to our stay, despite the absence of a bridge view.

While the hotel's exterior may appear dated, the interior tells a different story, especially our room, which has seen recent renovations. The bathroom, however, retains a vintage charm, yet its cleanliness and the strong water pressure did not go unnoticed.
Luna’s Day Bed
Luna thoroughly enjoyed her stay, finding comfort and joy in every corner of the room, from her doggy bed to the window day bed, and even the main bed, making herself thoroughly at home. Her afternoon nap by the day bed, basking in the sunlight, was a highlight of her stay.
Luna Soaking the Sun
The staff's friendliness and accommodating nature stood out, making both Luna and us feel incredibly welcome, with Luna forming new friendships and enjoying ample attention and affection.
Luna Posing
We're curious to hear your thoughts on this new content direction and welcome any suggestions for future explorations.
