Jackies Cafe with Luna: A Paw-some Dining Discovery in Paddington

Hey there,

We trust your week has been delightful, and you've made the most of the Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals to acquire that dream TV or furniture you've been eyeing. In last week's edition, we ventured into a warehouse-style cafe in Alexandria, welcoming our four-legged friends to an open, air-conditioned space. This week, let's turn our attention to a new gem we discovered a fortnight ago in Paddington.

Let’s get to it!

Our Experience

We arrived at Jackies on a bustling Saturday noon and fortuitously landed the last two-seater table. This cafe is cleverly divided into three areas: a fully indoor section to the right, a middle zone with large umbrellas and a retractable roof for light showers, and to the left, a covered area shielded from both sun and rain.

Greeted warmly by the staff, we promptly settled near the cashier. Luna, was a hit with the staff, receiving lots of affection.

Jackies offers a simple yet appealing breakfast menu, but their lunch offerings really shine with Japanese-inspired dishes.

Chicken Katsu Sandwich

Chicken Katsu Sandwich

I opted for the Chicken Katsu Sandwich. The fried chicken was flavoursome, but the bread was a tad too crispy for my liking. A softer bread might have complemented the dish better.

Grilled Calamari Salad

My wife chose the Grilled Calamari Salad, a delightful blend of tender calamari and fresh greens, perfect for a light yet satisfying lunch.

Seating with Doggy

Although we didn't enquire about indoor seating for our furry friends due to the peak hour rush, the left-hand section seemed promising for dog-friendly dining.

Doggy Amenities

It's advisable to bring a water bottle for your doggy as we didn't spot a communal water bowl.
