Our Experience

We made our arrival at approximately 11:30 am. I dropped off my wife and Luna first, then set off to find parking, aiming to secure seating before more patrons arrived. A free parking space was located about 200 metres away, with an alternative of a $12 all-day parking facility adjacent to the cafe for those planning a longer stay.

Mecca Coffee boasts two venues, one in the CBD and this, their flagship in Alexandria, which also serves as their office and roastery. The setting is reminiscent of a warehouse, spread over two floors with restrooms situated on the upper level beside their offices.

The interior, with its high ceilings, remains airy and spacious, ensuring comfort even when at full capacity. The outdoor seating, comprising four tables with sizeable umbrellas, offers some respite from the sun, though it's less advisable during extreme weather conditions due to insufficient protection.

I chose the Chilli Scram, featuring a generous drizzle of red chilli sauce atop the omelette and sourdough bread. Luna was equally eager to partake. An additional protein option would be welcome, as the dish left me feeling hungry shortly after.

My wife selected the Prawn Casarecce, a pasta dish with a signature tomato sauce. I managed a few bites and found it exceptionally flavoursome, particularly due to the chilli ferment. It's a dish we'd eagerly reorder for its distinct and memorable taste.
