Spot of the Week: Valentinas Sydney
Valentinas Sydney (Marrickville)
Vibe: Hipster and bustling
Our Experience

Valentinas shop front
We reached Valentinas on a Saturday around noon. To our surprise, despite the bustling crowd, our wait was a mere 10-15 minutes. As for parking, it was a breeze. I snagged a spot just 50 metres away. The cafe is nestled in a quiet residential neighbourhood, ensuring you don't hustle for parking spaces.

Upon our arrival, the staff's warm smiles greeted us. And it wasn't just us humans they were fond of. Luna seemed to be the star attraction for those waiting. Inside, we were met with an unexpected ambiance. While the exterior hinted at a vintage American diner, the interior showcased a sleek retro-modern vibe. A quick heads-up: If you're looking for the restroom, there's a well-maintained, contemporary shared toilet at the back.

Menu Highlights

Valentinas menu
Deciding what to order was a challenge with their tempting range of options. Most dishes hover around the $20 mark, with pancakes being a delightful exception.

Fried chicken sandwich with fries
My wife went for the fried chicken sandwich, a delectable mix of crispy chicken elevated by the kick of jalapenos. We added fries for an extra $4, and they came perfectly seasoned for an added burst of flavour.
Tina classic with an extra pancake
I settled on the Tina classic, a plate loaded with a pancake, scrambled eggs, bacon, and wedges. Based on the waiter's suggestion, I added an extra pancake, and given my hearty appetite, it was a wise choice. The bacon was standout - offering a perfect blend of sweet-savoury flavour with a crispy texture.
Luna, on the other hand, was thoroughly enjoying her scrambled eggs, cheekily helping herself to a generous share.
As for our drinks, both the iced latte and the iced long black were spot on.

Doggy Amenities
Luna had a great time, but we did notice the cafe missed out on offering water bowls or doggy treats for our four-legged buddies.
